PEACE VIGIL
The Laguna Beach Peace Vigil meets every Saturday from 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. at Main Beach. The group seeks nonviolent answers to global

BASKETBALL
The public is invited to play basketball at Laguna Beach High
School. Full-court pickup games are played in the school’s gym from 9
a.m. to noon Sundays. Many former high school and college players
participate. The games are sponsored by the city’s recreation
department. Cost is $2 at the door, free for those aged 18 and under.
FOLK DANCING
Laguna Folkdancers offers instruction on various ethic dances from

Firefighters will flip flapjacks at the annual Labor Day Pancake

BRIDGE CLUB
The Round Robin Bridge Club, sponsored by the Woman’s Club of

COMMUNITY CHORUS

South Coast Medical Center offers a variety of free support groups
for people with medical challenges or their loved ones. A
Visualization and Relaxation Class meets in the Chapel every Monday
from 1-2 p.m.; an Eating Disorders Support Group for anyone suffering
from anorexia or bulimia meets in the Community Room on the second
and fourth Mondays of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; the Parkinson’s
Disease Support Group meets the third Thursday of the month from
10:30 a.m. to noon in Classroom 4.
There are three Cancer Support Groups (a free consultation is
required before joining): A Breast Cancer group, meets every Monday
from 10-11 a.m.; a Family and Friends Group, meets every Monday from
2-4 p.m.; and a Patients’ Group meets every Monday from 2-4 p.m. All
