Team Neighbor 2nd in title match

A group of local middle school girls came up big on the basketball

court last weekend with a second-place finish at the National Junior

Basketball Beach Hoops tournament, held at San Clemente High School.

The Huntington Beach girls, coached by Margie and Tim Brennan,

competed in the eighth-grade division and went by the name Team

Neighbor.

The team won its pool and advanced to the tournament final, where

they fell to champion El Toro.

Team Neighbor’s run to the championship game came as a bit of a

surprise, as the team had just six players.

Team Neighbor is composed of Caitlyn Conners of Spring View, Renee

Lindquist of Mesa View, and Brittany Frers, Analese Trejo, Janet Kim

and Meghan White, all of Marine View.

Team Neighbors has a few spots open on its roster for the fall

season. The travel team competes in NJB All Net League games and

various tournaments throughout the season.
