record fourth quarter
Emulex Corporation, a Costa Mesa data storage company, announced
what the firm described as record financial results Friday.
Emulex released data from its fourth fiscal quarter, which ended
July 3. Quarterly revenues were $108.2 million, up 25% from last
year’s figures, according to a statement. The firm reported a
$25.3-million profit for the quarter. Emulex’s reported loss for the
same quarter in 2004 was $572.9 million.
The company reported having net cash and investments of $289
million, an increase of $158 million from 2004 figures.
William Lyon sees record home orders
William Lyon Homes, based in Newport Beach, reported
second-quarter financial figures Monday.
The company reported a quarterly profit of $44.1 million, a 42% increase for the same quarter in 2004. Home sales revenues dipped
slightly to $362.1 million, a 1.4% decrease from 2004.
The company also reported quarterly records for net new home
orders, with 1,154 orders. William Lyon also had its highest-ever
backlog of home sales that had not closed by the end of the quarter,
with a figure of 2,088 homes.
Voit Development
buys Hyland Plaza
The Voit Development Co. announced Wednesday it had taken
ownership of Hyland Plaza, a Costa Mesa office building. Voit plans
to redevelop the 46,957-square-foot Hyland Avenue building into
office condominiums, according to a release.
Voit plans to sell 1,000- to 4,000-square-foot office
condominiums. A release from Voit stated the building had been vacant
for two years. Before that, it was used by Unocal Corp. The building
is set to be managed by Voit’s Chris Cussen, and the building is
expected to be ready for office use by January.
