Ever seen a giant plant consume human beings? This is your chance.
“Little Shop of Horrors,” a musical based on a 1960 film of the same name, begins a 13-day run at the Orange County Performing Arts
Center’s Segerstrom Hall. The show opened on Broadway in October 2003
and has been touring the country ever since.

Aspiring thespians might be able to pick up a few tips from Pamela
Winslow’s one-woman show, “Change Happens: A Journey in Song,” which
tracks the former “Star Trek” actress’ journey through Broadway, film
and motherhood.
Marcieanna Jasko, the theatrical director of Costa Mesa’s Arts and
Learning Conservatory, co-produced the show.
Performances of “Change Happens” are Wednesday and Thursday at 8
p.m. at the Winifred Smith Hall at UC Irvine, as well as Friday at 8
p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Newport Theater Arts Center,
2501 Cliff Drive, Newport Beach. Tickets are $23.50. Call (949)

SURF-PUNK SHOW
“Against The Grain: The Twin-Fin and Punk-Rock Collide” comes to
the headquarters of Hurley on Friday evening. The exhibition will
include twin-fin surfboards -- custom-designed by some of the top
shapers of the 1970s -- that have been air-sprayed by some of the
most well known figures of the punk movement.
Costa Mesa is the sixth of seven stops on the show’s tour. After
the final stop in San Diego, the boards will be auctioned off, with
proceeds going to the nonprofit group Save the Music.
The show begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Hurley is
