JWA wins communications awards
John Wayne Airport’s redesigned website and 2004 annual report have
earned airport officials accolades for their communication skills.
The airport announced Thursday it has received a first-place award
for last year’s annual report and a second-place award for its
website, www.ocair.com, from the Airports Council International of
North America.
John Wayne was one of 54 airports competing for airport council
awards. It’s the fifth time John Wayne Airport has been recognized by
the airports council for its communication and marketing. Prior
awards include recognition for airport brochures in 1999, 2000 and
2002, and an award for the airport’s tour program in 1998.
In 2004 the airport redesigned its website to better assist people
with their travel arrangements and to offer information on air
traffic patterns above Orange County. Other recent customer service
upgrades include new signs in the airport terminals and tables where
travelers can put personal items in plastic bags as they go through
security screenings.
“It is an honor to be recognized by ACI-NA,” John Wayne Airport
Director Alan Murphy said in a statement. “Each year we strive to
produce publications that provide useful information to our
stakeholders, while giving us an opportunity to get important
messages out to the community.”
