Horn chooses Vassar

the last two seasons, has committed to Vassar College in
Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Horn, who finished no lower than sixth in three Sea View League
individual tournaments, was selected Newport Harbor’s Scholar Athlete
of the Year for 2004-05, one of only 178 students out of 700,000 in

seventh in the CIF Southern Divisional team championships.
Horn’s best round as a Sailor was a 1-under-par 35 in October en
route to earning the team’s Most Valuable Player award for the third
time in four varsity seasons.

her score. Horn, a second baseman on Newport’s softball teams her
sophomore and junior seasons, placed third in the league golf
championship in 2004 and finished second in the Newport Beach Country
Club junior championship.
Horn will major in language and international business, Brian
Horn, her father said, at Vassar, entering its third season of
women’s golf in NCAA Division III.
The Brewers open their season Sept. 18-19 at the Cortland (N.Y.)
University Invitational.
