Summer fitness camp coming

The Speed Kills Summer Fitness Camp opens Monday in Laguna Beach.

The four-week camp, comprised of 16 sessions, is open to all local

youth in all sports. No experience in any sport is needed, and the

camp staff encourages all youth to participate.

Speed, quickness, explosiveness, coordination and mental strength

and preparation are some of the topics covered at the camp.

The camp is run by Laguna Beach High football coach Jimmy Nolan.

Speed Kills has trained more than 1,000 athletes since 1999.

Camp activities will be held at Guyer Field on the Laguna Beach

campus. Camps will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. each Monday, Tuesday,

Thursday and Friday for the next four weeks, ending on July 22.

Total cost per camper for the 16 sessions is $250.

Soccer camps at high school

Laguna Beach High girls’ soccer coach Bill Rolfing and

his staff will conduct a summer soccer camp for girls ages 12 to

18 for the second straight year.

Soccer skills and technique development, small group tactics and

field awareness will be emphasized.

Special “speed training” sessions with Jimmy Nolan, head football

coach at Laguna Beach High, will add to the program’s depth in an

energetic, fun and positive learning environment.

Two camp sessions will be offered.

The first will run from 8 to 11 a.m. July 18 to 22 at Guyer Field

on the high school campus.

The second session will run the same hours from July 25-29.

The cost is $200 per camper and $100 per additional family member.

The fee includes player evaluations, participation awards and a

Laguna Beach High camp T-shirt.

Each player is required to bring soccer shoes, shin guards,

sunscreen and water

Soccer academy camp dates set

The All England Soccer Academy has announce the dates for its

upcoming summer soccer camps.

The camps, open to youth ages six to 15 and for players of all

abilities, will be held from Aug. 8 to 12, Aug. 15 to 19 and Aug. 29

to Sept 2.

Each camp session will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Moulton Meadows

Park.

or two positions available for dedicated, quality soccer players for

its boys’ teams in under-9 to under-15 divisions.
