What Scott did
He proposed to me, two months after we started dating, on the pool
table at the bar where we met. After a yearlong engagement, we
married on a paddleboat on the Colorado River, with all our children
in the service. It was a day to remember. But it doesn’t end there.
We have been married almost five years and our family has grown by
not one, not two, but by seven more children. We have adopted seven
more children; all of them have developmental disabilities. Two of
our children have life-threatening diseases, seven have autism. That
gives us a total of 10 children.
Scott is truly the best dad any of these children ever could have
dreamed of having. From the custom bunk beds he builds in their
rooms, to playing with them in the pool, to flying kites at the park,
he gives them everything a child could ever dream of for a dad. He is
funny and loving and is the best cook ever. Not only all of this, but
he is also the best husband. I truly don’t know where I would be
without him by my side. He is my strength when I am weak and is by my
side through everything life throws at us.
This Father’s Day and every day during the year, I want him to
know that I love him and that his kids love him. Thank you for being
a part of our lives.
Love you,
