Newport Beach library enters the iPod world
The city’s library is going high-tech: It will begin offering
audio books on iPods, making it one of a very few in the country to
do so.
“I just thought it was really intriguing,” said Genesis Hansen, a
reference librarian for the Newport Beach Public Library.
A Long Island library’s “program has been really, really
successful, so we’re really excited about this.”
The 15 iPods will be available for check out beginning July 6.
* Mayor Steve Bromberg took to the dais a final time Tuesday and
ended up having to adjourn his last City Council meeting early
because of a short-lived tsunami warning. A longtime attorney,
Bromberg officially stepped down from his city role Friday to take a
judgeship in the Orange County Superior Court. He’ll be sworn in as a
judge this Friday.
