Annual blessing of the artists tonight
Once a year, before everything hits a frenetic summer pace,
artists put down their paint brushesto get blessed at the annual
Blessing of the Artists.
With the start of the summer art festivals less than a month away,
the tradition of blessing the artists in early June has become a
nine-year tradition at St. Catherine of Siena Church.
This year’s blessing will again be by Fr. Eamon O’Gorman at 7 p.m.
today. Some artists bring their tools to be blessed. Because St.
Catherine’s is still under construction, the event has been moved to
St. Catherine School’s Parish Hall, 3090 S. Coast Highway. A
reception will follow. Information: (949) 494-9701.
