‘Down Size’ filmmaker looking for new talent

Health enthusiast Chazz Weaver, whose film “Down Size Me” debuted at

the Newport Beach Film Festival in April and won Best Documentary

Short at the MassBay Film Festival, is looking for a handful of high

school students to whip into shape this summer.

Weaver is planning to take the teenagers through an exercise and

nutrition program to show them that losing weight leads to higher

self-esteem and better academic performance.

He is looking for students who have at least one year left in high

school, so he can follow their progress after the summer. Weaver said

he would like to work with the students at least three days a week,

helping to provide proper dietary information and give workout tips.

Weaver plans to take the teenagers to local gyms once the school

year ends. He is hoping to track their progress through Truth in

Fitness, a nonprofit organization that gives the public information

on health and fitness.

He is conducting interviews with students over the next few weeks.
