McBean powers squad
Rick Devereux
The Mariners Christian third- and fourth-grade boys soccer team
relied on the foot of Jack McBean to propel the Dolphins to a 5-0 win
over Our Lady Queen of Angles Tuesday in the opening game of the
Daily Pilot Cup at the Costa Mesa Farm Complex.
McBean, who scored four times, began his barrage in the 15th
minute when Tyler Palmquist sent a ball to Rob Rosenast, who, in
turn, centered to McBean.
McBean scored three times in the second half -- twice on
breakaways and once with assists coming from Daniel Munoz and Kevin
Norman.
Spencer Sharp finished off the scoring for the Dolphins with a
seeing-eye shot from the right sideline that managed to get past a
scrum of players in the penalty box with one minute left in the game.
