Jeff Johnson
Jeff Johnson, a former Laguna Beach resident, died Sunday, May 15
at the age of 48 in White Salmon, Washington as a result of a
mountain biking accident.
Mr. Johnson lived in Laguna Beach from the late 1960s until 1975,
and attended school locally, graduating from Laguna Beach High
School.
He went on to become an executive director for the New Buildings
Institute, a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to making
buildings better for people and the environment.
He relocated to White Salmon in 1998, wishing to pursue his
hobbies of windsurfing, surfing and mountain biking.
Most recently, he trained and raced the Oregon mountain bike race
series and placed second in his division in 2004.
He is survived by his mother Cynthia Johnson, of Laguna Beach;
children, Nick and Leana Johnson; brother, Jay and sister, Jodi
Johnson.
A service celebrating his life was held Friday, May 20 at Gardner
Funeral Home in White Salmon.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made
to the “Jeff Johnson Memorial Fund,” Riverview Community Bank, P.O.
Box 1338, White Salmon, WA 98672.
