Nonprofits post agenda
Organizers of the Laguna Beach Community Foundation will host a
meeting of local nonprofit organizations at 7 p.m., Thursday at the
Assistance League Chapter House, 547 Catalina St.
The agenda will include a review of categories and an election of
board members to serve on an interim board, which will develop
committees to work on bylaws, community outreach and fundraising.
Upon completion of the bylaws, a full board will be elected.
More than 40 organizations attended the first meeting last May of
the foundation proposed by former City Councilman Wayne Peterson,
Laguna Canyon Foundation president Michael Pinto, foundation
executive director Mary Fegraus and Peter Kote.
Based on the meeting, a trust was created that has been prepared,
signed and filed with the state and is currently filing for 501c-3
tax deductible status.
