The 75th anniversary of the first flag to be raised on the
original school flag pole at Newport Harbor High School will this
year honor 36 young men who gave their lives in defense of freedom,
all patriotic members of the school’s family. Men who were at Pearl
Harbor will raise the flag and a large picture of the first flag will
be on display. Event starts at 11:30 a.m. at Newport Harbor High

“Iranian Americans and the Question of Identity” -- Professor M.R.
Ghanoonparvar will discuss cultural, linguistic, literary, and other
aspects of identity and address individual and collective
