Police investigate rape of ‘elderly’ woman
Costa Mesa police are investigating a reported rape of a woman in
her home Monday night.
Police believe a man entered the home through an open door, Sgt.
Marty Carver said. Carver described the victim as “elderly.”
Police don’t have anyone in custody in connection with the rape.
The case is under investigation.

Expo set for Sunday
Fire trucks, police dogs, demonstrations, food and games are
coming to Costa Mesa during the Public Safety Expo on Sunday.
Members of the Costa Mesa police and fire departments will conduct
demonstrations and host displays. The expo will include firefighters
extinguishing a live structure fire and using the Jaws of Life, and
police K-9 demonstrations.
The expo will include other public-service displays, food and
games.
The expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fire station
at 2300 Placentia Ave. in Costa Mesa. The event is free and parking
is free at Estancia High School, which is across the street.
