APPLICANTS SOUGHT FOR
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
The Newport Beach City Council is looking for qualified electors
from the Newport Beach who are interested in serving for a four-year
term on various city boards and commissions. A total of 11 vacancies
will exist when terms expire on June 30, 2005. The vacancies are as
follows: Board of Library trustee -- one vacancy; City Arts
Commission -- three vacancies; Civil Service board -- one vacancy;
Harbor Commission -- two vacancies; Parks, Beaches & Recreation
Commission -- two vacancies; and Planning Commission -- two
vacancies. The deadline for filing applications is 4 p.m. May 11.

FOR GIRLS’ ORGANIZATION
Girls Incorporated of Orange County, a national youth organization
for girls ages 5-18, needs volunteers to help facilitate and

COMMUNITY CLEANUP
HAPPENS FOR 12TH YEAR
In celebration of Volunteer Recognition Week, the city of Costa
Mesa will hold its 24th biannual “Neighbors for Neighbors” community
clean-up. The program was created 12 years ago to help low-income
residents beautify of their homes and assist in community cleanup.
