Poloists win pair

In weekend round-robin competition, the Laguna Beach Water Polo

Club’s girls’ eighth-grade-and-under team posted victories over

Corona del Mar and Los Alamitos, before losing to Newport Beach.

Laguna defeated Corona del Mar, 7-5, took care of Los Alamitos,

9-4, but fell, 6-5, to Newport Beach.

Laguna Beach 7, Corona del Mar 5

Dylan Conroy posted three goals and Hanna Fait scored twice to

lead Laguna in scoring.

Single goals were scored by Annika Dries and Kacky Brown.

Laguna Beach 9, Los Alamitos 4

Annika Dries was a scoring machine with a match-best seven goals

to carry Laguna’s offense.

Laguna’s two other goals were scored by Madison Duncan and Dylan

Conroy.

Newport Beach 6, Laguna 5

Laguna led at home, 5-3, after four quarters, but Newport scored

three goals in a bonus fifth quarter, to pull out the win.

Annika Dries paced Laguna with two goals, while teammates Dylan

Conroy, Addie Rubino and Madison Duncan each scored once.
