Documentary to be screened at Sage Hill
Sage Hill School is scheduled to hold a private screening Thursday of
“Chances,” a documentary film that follows the story of Magdalene, an
organization devoted to helping prostitutes get off the streets.
Filmmaker Tom Neff will be on hand to discuss the film after the
showing.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at Sage Hill School, 20402 Newport

Butterfly sculpture to be revealed today
A butterfly sculpture created by Newport Beach Arts Commissioners
Kathy Harrison and Arlene Cartozian will be shown today at the
Environment Nature Center in Newport Beach.
The sculpture was bought by the city of Newport Beach and the Arts
Commission as part of the countywide Butterfly Initiative Project
that supports arts and sciences education endowments.
The sculpture will be placed outside the Butterfly House at the
Environmental Nature Center.
Newport Beach Mayor Steve Bromberg will help with the ceremony,
which begins at 5 p.m. at the center, 1601 16th St.
