Two new meet marks were established Saturday at the city of Laguna
Beach Community Services Dept.-sponsored citywide track meet at
Laguna Beach High.
One record went to Richard Mattingley, who ran the Division 7
(born in 1992) 1,600-meters in 5:56.
That run eclipsed the previous meet record time of 6:03.19, set in
2002 by Scott De Young.
The other meet record was set by Katelyn Murray in the Division 9
(1990) 400-meter race.
Murray finished in 1:06.09, to run past the previous meet mark of
Megan Nicholls O’Connell, who ran a 1:14.9 at the 1990 city meet.
The records set by Mattingley and Murray highlighted a meet filled
