FRIDAY
A Friday Night Funtime Dance for developmentally disabled
teenagers and young adults will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the
Edison Community Center, 21377 Magnolia St. The dance is sponsored by
the city and the Kiwanis Club. The cost is $2 per person.

A screening of “AKA Girl Surfer,” an all-female documentary about
a road trip along the eastern coast of Australia, is set for 7 to 9
p.m. at HB Wahine, 301 Main St., Ste. 102. This event is free and

SATURDAY
The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve will celebrate Earth Day with a
family event from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reserve parking lot, Pacific
Coast Highway and Warner Avenue. The celebration will feature craft
tables for children of all ages, tours and information about the
wetland restoration project and an opportunity to help plant native

The Over The Rainbow Variety Show will be held at 7 p.m. at the
Golden West College Mainstage Theater, 15744 Goldenwest St. Proceeds
raised from the variety show will be used for scholarships to benefit
students in the C.A.R.E. program, a service that helps single-parent

A Family Barbecue will be held at 5 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian

Kimo Hussey will play the ukulele from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kolohe
Ukulele Club at Island Bazaar, 16582 Gothard St. Hussey will perform
some of his favorite songs and conduct a free workshop for anyone
