Angels blank Giants

The Angels used a trio of pitchers to keep the Giants’ bats silent,
and a potent offense racked up 14 hits in an 11-0 victory in Majors
Division action at Ocean View Little League.
Devin King, Evan Archer and Jacob Pascoe combined on the mound to
shutout the Giants.
On offense, the Halos’ 14 hits included Angelo Abbadessa, who
broke the game open in the top of the third with a two-run single,
Tyler Mildenberg with a pair of doubles and King and Andrew Brine
each with two singles.
Pascoe, Richard Bray, Michelle Roe, Brandon Saito and Thomas Gross
all singled.
In other Majors Division action:
Angels, 11; Reds, 8
The Angels again posted 11 runs as they outlasted the Reds in a
seven-inning affair.
It marked the third straight game that the Angels had recorded 11
runs in a game.
Devin King’s blast over the right field fence in the bottom of the
seventh clinched the game for the Angels.
Angelo Abbadessa doubled and singled twice, Tyler Mildenberg
tripled, King doubled and Brandon Saito, Thomas Gross and Evan Archer
each singled twice.
At Seaview Little League:
Majors Division
Cubs, 10; Pirates, 3
Steven Malone singled, doubled, tripled, scored twice and finished
with three RBI to power the Cubs.
The Cubs’ attack also included a single and an RBI double by Ryan
Ortolf and two singles from Jack Koeller.
Cubs pitcher Chase Leamer threw five innings and struck out seven
in recording the win.
The Pirates’ Aaron Anguiano doubled among two hits and Drew Daily
and Gerald Marcucci each singled.
Angels, 9; Cubs, 8
Mitch Clark delivered a score-tying two-run double and Jordan
Bender scored the winning run in the sixth inning, as the Angels
overcame a six-run deficit.
Corey Hammond doubled, Michael McClymonds-Nguyen had an RBI single
and Zach Bauer and Lane Hepburn each added a hit for the Angels.
Charlie Miller got the win.
The Cubs’ Steven Malone went three for three with a triple and two
RBIs, Ryan Ortolf had a double and RBI single, Perry Clitheroe had
two hits and an RBI and Chase Leamer had an RBI double.
