Volunteers are needed for
Earth Day 2005 restoration and cleanup projects. The Earth Day
program encourages California businesses and residents to actively
participate in environmental improvement projects in their
communities. Every year, thousands of volunteers plant trees, restore
trails and wildlife habitats, remove trash and debris and install
recycling bins. There are 18 different parks and beaches that will
complete environmental improvement and maintenance projects. Cleanup
projects will be held Earth Day, April 23, times vary by park. Anyone
interested in becoming a volunteer should e-mail their name, county,
