Times Community News buys two weeklies

Times Community News, which publishes the Daily Pilot, announced this

week that it has purchased two newspapers in the La Canada Flintridge

area.

The La Canada Valley Sun and the Crescenta Valley Sun will join

the six other community newspapers in the Los Angeles area run by

Times Community News, a division of the Los Angeles Times.

Times Community news bought the weekly papers from Century Group

newspapers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Besides the Pilot and the two new weeklies, Times Community News

also publishes the Huntington Beach Independent, the Laguna Beach

Coastline Pilot, the Glendale News-Press, the Foothill Leader and the

Burbank Leader.
