Real estate agent suspected in thefts
Irvine police arrested a Newport Beach real estate agent Friday in
connection with a series of thefts from homes up for sale.
Diana Prosser, also known as Diana Prosser-Grannan, is suspected
in as many as 30 thefts in Irvine with more than $50,000 in property
missing, police said. That property was recovered in her Big Canyon
home, police said.
Prosser is accused of using her position as a real estate agent to
gain access to homes for sale and help herself to expensive jewelry,
cash and designer clothing. Each of the homes had a lockbox to give
access to agents.
Thefts may have occurred in other cities also, police said.
Irvine police are putting the recovered items on display Thursday.
Anyone who had personal items stolen while his or her home was on the
market may contact Rhonda Muter at (949) 724-7160 to schedule an
appointment to view the recovered items. Anyone with information on
the thefts is asked to call Det. Steve Randall at (949) 724-7137.
