PEACE VIGIL

The Laguna Beach Peace Vigil will meet every Saturday from 11 a.m.

to 1 p.m. at Main Beach. The group seeks nonviolent answers to global

SUNDAY

ADULT BASKETBALL

The public is invited to play ball at Laguna Beach High School.

Full-court pick-up games are played in the school’s gym from 9 a.m.

to noon Sundays. Many former high school and college players

participate. The games are sponsored by the city’s recreation

department. Cost is $2 at the door.

MONDAY

FUNDRAISING ANNOUNCEMENT

The Laguna Beach Seniors will host an event to reveal a major

announcement concerning fundraising for the new senior center, at

12:30 p.m. at Tivoli Terrace, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Dessert and

coffee will be served. Free bus transportation will be arranged to

and from the senior center beginning at noon. RSVP required by today.

ADULT LEARNING PROGRAM

The Laguna Beach Unified School District Adult Program for

learning English as a second language will be held from 5:30 to 8:30

p.m., Mondays to Thursdays in Room 90 at 550 Bluemont St. The class

is free and participants can register with the instructor.

TUESDAY

BIBLE STUDY

Word Study Laguna Beach, a community nondenominational,

nonexclusive Bible study, will hold meetings at noon at the Calvary

Evangelical Free Church. Word Study Laguna Beach is an independent

ministry of Word Study International and meets weekly from noon to 1

p.m. in the church at 468 Legion St. All are welcome to participate

in the short lesson, small groups, praying and sharing. Information:

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will welcome anyone dealing with grief

and loss in a new support group. The group will meet at 7 p.m. on

DISCUSS WORLD AFFAIRS

The Laguna Beach chapter of the League of Women Voters and the

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship invite the public to discuss world

affairs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Unitarian

Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive. Meetings will be held
