Two drivers killed
in collision on 405
A 29-year-old Costa Mesa man driving his car the wrong way on the
San Diego (405) Freeway collided head on with another car early
Saturday morning, killing both drivers, the California Highway Patrol
reported.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. near Bellflower
Boulevard. The Costa Mesa man was driving south in the northbound
lanes in his 2000 Dodge Stratus. The other vehicle, a 2002 Jeep
Wrangler driven by a 37-year-old Torrance man, was heading northbound
when the collision occurred.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and died at the scene,
according to investigators.
