Crane crashes onto house
A construction crane crashed down onto a house at 3:13 p.m. Feb.
24 in the 10 block of N. Stonington Road, police said.
The man operating the crane told police the crane fell because he
had forgotten to put down it’s outriggers, police said.
The homeowner, who was inside the house at the time of the
accident, was not injured, police said.
Driver hits a pedestrian
A Dana Point man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving
after he hit a woman crossing the street at 9:30 p.m. Friday on S.
Coast Highway at Oak Street, police said.
Richard Clark, 73, was driving a blue Dodge Durango when he hit
the woman, who was found face-down in the street when police arrived,
police said.
The woman was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to
Mission Hospital, police said.
New traffic signal coming
Crews will be working on installing a new traffic signal system at
the intersection of Broadway and Forest Avenue for several weeks.
Steve May, director of public works, said the new signals will be
placed in different positions to provide for better visibility.
