Haidl coverage and the media
We went to the Balboa and Newport piers to ask: Have you been
following the media coverage of the Greg Haidl case? If so, what is
your take on the media’s coverage of this particular trial?
“Well, I’m not obsessed by it but I do read the papers and follow
the news. I guess the newspaper has a duty to cover stories like
that.... Overall, I just think it’s a very sad story, no matter who’s
at fault. Nobody’s going to come out a winner. I mean everybody’s
going to lose no matter what. It’s just very sad.”
Teresa Barnwell, 50
Costa Mesa
“No. Who is that?”
Dana Bierney, 23
Newport Beach
“I see it on the news daily. It seems to me that they’re trying
him in the news before he’s even gone to trial, but I don’t know.”
Joe DiLuccia, 42
Westminster
“A little bit. We don’t need to hear about it every day. I don’t
know, I think maybe leave the guy alone for awhile. I’m sure he’s
guilty, but I don’t know.”
Bill Nord, 41
Costa Mesa
“No. I never heard of it.”
Jose Serrato, 30
