Sage’s Loper is first-team choice

Sage Hill School boys basketball had two representatives named
All-Academy League by league coaches.
Senior Matt Loper was named to the first team after leading the
Lightning with 18.9 points per game this season. He played in every
game for Sage Hill, which finished fourth in league but earned an
at-large bid to the CIF Southern Section Division IV-A playoffs.
The Lightning lost in the first round, 61-53, to Big Sky League
champion Woodcrest Christian.
Freshman Jamie McGee is a second-team choice. He averaged 13.9
points per game, with a team-high 47 three-pointers.
Senior Michael Voge received honorable mention.
St. Margaret’s sophomore Corey Fava was the league MVP while
Brethren Christian’s John Bahnsen was named Coach of the Year.
