ART WALK

Join more than 40 galleries throughout Laguna Beach on the first

Thursday of every month for a festive cultural evening from 6 to 9

p.m. Free shuttle service commences from the Laguna Art Museum at

*Laguna Art Museum

Laguna Art Museum is exhibiting “The OsCene: Contemporary Art and

Culture in OC,” “Jody Zellen: Other Places,” “The Many Faces of Roger

Armstrong” and “Surf Culture Redux” through Feb. 27.

“The OsCene: Contemporary Art and Culture in Orange County,”

exhibit involves diverse media including painting, drawing,

sculpture, photography, multi-media, video/film. Sound/music,

architecture and tattoo art. lectures, panels, film screenings and

music performances are scheduled throughout the exhibit.

“The OsCene Panel Discussion: Laying It On: Painting in The

OsCene” will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 27. A panel of five painters moderated

by the museum’s chief curator Tyler Stallings will discuss the work

of artists Alexandra de Alcala, Daniel du Plessis, Aaron Kraten,

Karen Feuer-Schwager and Emigdio Vasquez. It’s free for members or

with paid museum admission.

The museum’s Art and Sales Gallery is featuring four local

artists, Jeffery Frisch, Francoise Issaly, Kimberly Merrill and

Cynthia Sitton in its current exhibit, debuting on Thursday’s First

Art Walk. The gallery rents and sells art ranging in style and

medium. Rental fees are from $37 to $307 per piece for three months.
