Laguna Beach Soccer Club tryout dates approaching
Laguna Beach Soccer Club will be holding tryouts for committed,
quality soccer players on March 5, 7, 9 and 12, at Moulton Meadows in
Laguna Beach.
The club is open to players in the following divisions under-9
through under-15, for both boys and girls.
Players interested in the upcoming tryout dates can call club
director Andy Thomas at (949) 293-5701.
Last year, Laguna Beach Soccer Club, in its first season, won its
first title when its boys’ under-10 team won a Bronze South Division
championship.
Laguna Beach second in
girls’ water polo rankings
Laguna Beach High’s girls’ water polo team ended the regular
season at No. 2 in the CIF-Southern Section Division II girls’ water
polo poll.
The Breakers again trailed Pacific Coast League rival Corona del
Mar, which went wire-to-wire ranked No. 1 in the regular season.
The teams are seeded first and second in the Division II playoffs,
which opened this week.
The rest of the Division II top 10 poll, in order, is composed of
Villa Park, Sunny Hills, Peninsula, University, Mira Costa, Katella,
La Habra and Western.
The Laguna Beach High boys’ basketball team earned a No. 15
ranking in the final regular season CIF-Southern Section Division
IV-AA poll.
The Breakers finished the regular season 16-10 overall, and
finished in third-place in the Pacific Coast League.
Laguna opened play in the Division IV-AA playoffs Wednesday at
home against Valley Christian.
The Breakers were seeded 15th in the 24-team postseason
tournament.
