White Lightning completes perfect season
The White Lightning, a Division 2 team out of Pacific Coast Hoops,
completed a perfect season last weekend with a 38-16 victory over
Team Nine.
The win capped a 9-0 regular season for the squad, which earned
that record behind a stifling defense and productive offense that
featured unselfish passing, said head coach, Anthony Petrarca.
The White Lightning is composed of Elijah Herrera, John Torres,
Jose Romero, Derek Weiser, Mitchell Alvarez, Jay Rowerdink Jr., Adam
Petrarca, Cade Hernandez and assistant coach Al Hernandez.
In youth water polo action:
A pair of Laguna Beach Water Polo Club teams earned second-place
finishes at the Los Alamitos Winter Tournament.
The 12-and-under Division girls’ team finished runner-up to
Newport Beach, and the 10-and-under squad also was runner-up in its
division.
Each team won its first two games before losing its final match.
In other divisions involving Laguna Beach club teams, the boys’
14-and-under team went 2-2 overall and finished in fourth-place, the
girls’ 14-and-under team won three of four matches and placed fifth,
the girls’ 12-and-under team went 2-2 and finished 10th, and the
14-and-Under coed team won its final match in going 1-3.
