Duke’s restaurant in Huntington Beach recently announced the Educator
of the Month honorees, a program that was established in 1999 to
recognize outstanding teachers and administrators. The following
winners were chosen from a pool of teachers nominated from nine
public elementary schools in the Huntington Beach School District:
Kelly Moran of Dwyer Elementary; Kim Stachniak of Eader Elementary;
Christine Zeutzius of Hawes Elementary; Laura Darm of Huntington
Seacliff Elementary; Tammy Bryant of Kettler Elementary; Lyndsey Kent
of Moffett Elementary; Renee Bain of Perry Elementary; Elaine
Salamacha of Peterson Elementary and Juliette Greyshock of Smith
Elementary.
Honorees will receive a complimentary dinner for two at Duke’s and
a framed plaque with their name on it to be displayed at school.
The Huntington Beach Education Foundation will hold its annual
fundraiser, the Gala Dinner Dance and Silent Auction, at 7 p.m. Feb.
26 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, 21000 Pacific Coast
Highway.
The event will serve to raise money for programs that benefit
local youth and provide for staff development and parent education.
Last year, the foundation funded more than $64,000 in teacher and
technology grants for Huntington Beach schools.
The foundation was founded in 1987 and is comprised of locals who
are passionate about education in the community. This gala is the
foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year. Tickets to the gala cost
