Noteworthy: Didn’t want to golf on the day she hit her hole-in-one
because it was too windy ... Her husband, Dick, convinced her to go
out with him and some friends ... The windy conditions made the hole
play long, so she used a 9-wood for the 100-yard shot over the water
hazard ... She thought she was going to get a birdie and was “in
total shock” when she found out her ball rolled into the hole for the
eagle ... Plays golf about twice a week ... Had to give up her love,
tennis, because of knee injuries, but surgery two years ago has
allowed her to start playing again ... Has been playing golf for 10
years ... Credits Newport Beach Country Club head pro Paul Hahn with
teaching her how to swing a golf club properly ... Was a stay-at-home
mom ... Attended UCLA for one year before moving to West Virginia
with her husband.
