CdM wins third straight

The Corona del Mar High girls basketball team did not play
particularly well but still managed to pull of a 47-42 victory over
visiting Pacific Coast League rival Northwood Tuesday night. It was
the third win in four games for the Sea Kings (10-10, 2-2 in league).
Katie Schulte had a game-high 15 and Allie Duernberger added 14
for CdM.
The game was marred by turnovers and fouls, Coach Scott Kahawai
said. He was pleased the team was able to persevere and pull out a
win. He was also praised the way sophomore guard Shannon Johnson has
elevated her game. She finished with eight points against Northwood.
CdM plays host to league-leading Laguna Beach Thursday at 7 p.m.
