Fire burns residence at local mobile home park
Costa Mesa firefighters battled a blaze at a mobile home park
early Wednesday.
A single-wide dwelling at the Tradewind Mobile Home Park in the
2000 block of Harbor Boulevard caught fire just after 6:30 a.m.,
Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Chris Coates said. When firefighters arrived,
the home was fully engulfed in flames and the homeowner was using a
garden hose to try to keep the fire under control, Coates said.
Nobody was inside the home at the time of the fire, and nobody was
injured, Coates said.
Flames briefly threatened another home, but firefighters managed
to contain the fire and extinguish it in about 10 minutes, he said.
A water heater in the home may have started the fire, he said.

hands-on activities.
The courses include a K-9 demonstration, a ride-along with a
patrol officer, a lesson at the shooting range and crime scene
investigation techniques.
Classes are from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and are open to
