North remains unbeaten

The North Huntington Beach Untouchables stayed unbeaten in the
2004-05 National Junior Basketball season by running away from South
Huntington Beach, 38-11, in a girls’ Division II game Sunday at
Edison High.
Devon Shinn paced the Untouchables’ scoring attack with a
game-high 16 points.
She also came up big on defense with 11 steals.
Every Untouchable broke into the scoring column as Nikki Richelli
scored seven points, MacKenzie McCollum scored four points to go
along with eight rebounds, Sarah Wilkinson scored four points,
Jessica Moore had eight rebounds and three points, Kayla Pacot had
four rebounds and two points, and Tessa Broder scored two points.
The victory upped the Untouchables’ record to 4-0.

The Edison High wrestling team is ranked fourth in the latest
Division I poll.
Leading the poll is No. 1 Temecula Valley, followed by San
Clemente and Rosemead.
Following Edison in the rankings is a pair of the Chargers’ Sunset
League rivals, as Esperanza and Los Alamitos come in at No. 4 and No.
5, respectively.
In the girls’ Division II-AA basketball poll, Edison is ranked
fourth in a division headed by No. 1 Troy.
Huntington Beach also received votes in the polling, but just
missed securing a top 10 spot.
Edison’s boys’ basketball team, at 13-3 heading into Wednesday’s
league action, received votes in the Division II-AA poll but missed a
top 10 spot.
Ocean View was found among the Division III-AA boys’ basketball
poll, coming in at No. 10. The division is headed by top-ranked Santa
Margarita.
In girls’ water polo, Huntington Beach was ranked eighth in
Division I. That poll leader is Newport Harbor.
