The wish list for the holidays does not seem to end: Clean air, peace
in the Middle East and more family time made it onto some people’s
wish lists. For those who have not made up their minds yet, a gift
card seemed like the perfect gift.
To a get a sense of what people are hoping for this Christmas and
what their hopes are for the new year, Daily Pilot intern Indulata
Prasad hit the streets Thursday. She ended up near the Newport Beach
Public Library. Here’s what people she interviewed had to say.
“Cleaner air, no smog, less SUVs on the road and world peace. For
the new year I hope to get a job that pays well after I graduate from
UCLA.”
GARTH LAST, 27
Newport Beach
“I told my parents to give me a gift card because there isn’t
anything I could think of that I wanted ... [For the new year] I want
peace in the Middle East.”
RICHARD DOBBINS, 37
Costa Mesa
“I asked for luggage this Christmas. [For the new year], I guess a
healthy and happy family and more opportunities to travel.”
GENESIS HANSEN, 33
Capistrano Beach
“Happy times with family and make Christmas what it is supposed to
be and not become commercial.” For the hopes for the new year “I just
want to be with family.”
JAMES LOPEZ, 42
