Dance Company’s ‘The Next Step’ final weekend
The Laguna Beach High School Dance Department and Company will
have its winter dance concert “The Next Step” at 7:30 p.m. today and
Saturday. The performance at The Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave.,
will include ballet, lyrical, tap and jazz.
Tickets are $15 for reserved, $10 general and $8 students. For

Choruses’ ‘Winter Concert’ Thursday
The Laguna Beach High School chorus, Thurston Middle School’s
sixth- and seventh-grade advanced chorus and Thurston’s sixth-grade
choir will perform “Chorus Winter Concert” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the
Artists’ Theatre, 625 Park Ave.
The three choruses will perform separate concerts with a range of
songs, holiday favorites and classics, including “Ode to Peace,”
“Joyfully Sing,” “Hark How the Bells” and “The Hanukkah Song.”
Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults.
Quest for Excellence holds regular meeting
Quest for Excellence committee invites the public to its regular
meetings at the district office, 550 Blumont St.
A “Research and Support” meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. today.
Following at 9 to 10 a.m. will be a Quest for Excellence steering
committee meeting at the district office.
An “Academic Depth Meeting” will be from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. Monday
at Laguna Beach High School, Room 20.

Community Learning Center concert at TOW Dec. 17
Students at the Community Learning Center, housed on Top of the
World Elementary School’s campus, have created a musical venue to
promote their vision of a peaceful world, “We are World Peacemakers.”
A musical project, “One Peace at a Time,” is a branch of the
students’ work, learning songwriting and musical structure and
creating a CD. The proceeds of the CD will be used to purchase a van
for the Puerta de Fe Orphanage in Baja Mexico.
Community Learning Center students will perform at Top of the
World school, 21601 Tree Top Lane, for the school’s monthly flag
ceremony Dec. 17.
Collective bargaining meeting to be held
The Laguna Beach Unified School District will publicly disclose
the provisions of all the collective bargaining agreements at its
regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be at
the district office, 550 Blumont St. For information, call (949)

No December Coffee Break meeting
There will be not be Coffee Break meeting in December due to the
holidays. The next Coffee Break will be from 8:15 to 10 a.m. Jan. 19
at Surf and Sand Hotel, 1555 S. Coast Highway, featuring Richard Du
Four who is nationally acclaimed for creating learning communities.
