Marine Corps Pfc. Adam A. Rodriguez recently completed 12 weeks of
recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego.
Rodriguez and his fellow recruits began their days at 5 a.m. by
running three miles. He also studied water survival, marksmanship,
hand-to-hand combat and combat weapons training. Rodriguez completed
boot camp by passing “The Crucible,” a 54-hour team exercise that
ends with a ceremony in which he and other recruits were presented
the Marine Corps emblem and addressed as “Marines” for the first
time. Rodriguez is a 2004 graduate of Estancia High School and is the
son of Aurora and Jerry Huffman of Costa Mesa.
