Emoteph is a magnificent, exotic, 8-month-old purebred male

chausie named after an Egyptian pharaoh. His breed became recognized

in the United States in 1995 and is a cross between a golden African

jungle cat and a domestic cat. The ancient Egyptians were the first

to believe a cat of his type could be tamed.

Russo’s Pet Experience at Fashion Island faces many of the same

challenges as shelters and animal rescue groups do. That is why

Community Animal Network will be supporting the pet store with foster

homes for the bigger animals if they need us. The bigger kittens,

cats, puppies and dogs face competition from any tiny new arrivals.

We all share the same plight.
