Favorite golf moment: When a spectator who watched Smoot and
husband Phil finish the par-4 18th hole at Castlerock Golf Club in
Ireland appeared on the green and gave Colleen Smoot a hug after she
parred the hole during a visit about four years ago. Smoot did not
know the man, whom she said was a member of the club. “The approach
shot is what made him notice. Then he walked out and watched the
putt,” Colleen Smoot said. “He said, ‘Fine job lassie.’”
