Academy opens up after-school program

The Hebrew Academy has opened the Kids Center, a new program

providing after-school care and activities to Huntington Beach

children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Center Administrator Sheryl Krok said that the program offers art,

drama and athletics.

The program is a first for the academy. Krok said the Academy has

had an after-school program in the past, which catered to children

from only the academy. This is the first time the program is being

opened up to the community.

The center is open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3 to 6

p.m. at the Hebrew Academy, 14401 Willow Lane. The cost is $75 per

child for each month. Some scholarship money is available to those

who cannot afford the monthly fee.
