Putting the Inc. on 50 years

It’s all about girl power.
Girls Inc. has been proving that in Costa Mesa for 50 years.
Girls Incorporated of Orange County -- an affiliate of the
national organization, which is the nation’s leading research and
evaluation organization on issues pertaining to girls and young women
-- has been a respected nonprofit in the community since 1954.
It started empowering young girls on the Westside 50 years ago and
continues in that noble endeavor today. The program has helped
countless girls become strong, intelligent young women, and is an
invaluable part of the Costa Mesa community.
The organization, which now has 26 sites in four school districts,
celebrated its 50th anniversary Friday with a special dinner at the
Hyatt Regency in Irvine.
But the real celebration is in its successes.
The many volunteers and participants should be vastly proud. Happy
birthday, Girls Inc.
