High Voltage jolts Hornets in 3-1 victory

High Voltage used a late, balanced scoring attack and a solid defense
to post a 3-1 victory over the HB Hornets in an AYSO Region 56 girls’
under-12 division match at Sowers Middle School.
A scoreless match in the third period came to an end when Kimber
DeSalva netted the first goal of the day.
Early in the fourth quarter, Madison Nosel scored to make it a 2-0
game but the Hornets answered with an Allison Andor goal.
A goal by Starla Gordon gave High Voltage breathing room at 3-1.

HB Highlighters 4, H. B. Bruisers 1
Geena Martinez lofted a shot into the net late in the first half
to break open a scoreless match and send the HB Highlighters on their
way to victory.
The first half defensive struggle saw strong goaltending by the
Bruisers’ Kalie McColloch and Bethany Treskes, and the Highlighters’
Spencer Wayne and Izzy Zamora.
Martinez’s scored her second goal early in the second half off a
pass from Lindsay Conlisk.
Martinez set up the Highlighters’ third goal with a pass to Maddie
Cashman, who placed the ball into the net. Bruiser Hillorie Nowak
answered with a goal off a Kiana Demers assist, making the score 3-1.
Highlighter halfbacks Shannon Hough and Kristin Nance moved the
ball up field, allowing teammate Shianne Phoenix to score the final
goal off a Kendra Harrison feed.

Hot Shots 2, Hawaiian Hotties 2
Kayla Wigney of the Hawaiian Hotties led all scorers with two
goals in a match that ended in a tie.

Code Red 4, Newport United 0
A strong defensive effort helped Code Red notch another impressive
victory.
Code Red’s defense was led by Erica Cabibbo, George Demes, Tiffany
Van Tress, Jodi Hwang, Osiris Ceja, Lauren Hanson and Breanne
Justice.
The scoring began when Alyssa Strickland drilled a shot into the
net off an assist by Alison Hensley. Alli Budd followed by landing a
goal off a corner kick, which made it 2-0 at the half.
Danica McGuire placed a corner kick perfectly into the net in the
second half, and Kirsten Marony finished off a deflected shot by
Erika Longoria to make it 4-0.
