opponent Irvine, 18-0, Tuesday at Irvine.

and freshman Alex McIntosh were just as impressive as the No. 2
doubles team.
Newport Harbor (8-5, 3-1 in league) skated past Irvine (0-12,
0-4), subbing out starters after the match was well in hand.
The Sea Kings play at University today at 3 in another league
contest.
Mesa perfect in doubles
* Costa Mesa High’s doubles teams didn’t lose a game in sweeping
all nine doubles sets in a 17-1 Golden West League girls tennis
victory over Santa Ana Tuesday.
Gwen Martinez and Anh Le, along with the duos of Leah Le and
Hong-An Nguyen and Maria Garcia and Uyen Le, combined for 54
victories.
Evelyn Wallace lost just two games her singles sweep while
teammate Jasmine Mathieson tallied three victories for the Mustangs
(6-3 in league).
Sea Kings win soundly
* Jill Damion and Rachael Miller each won two sets while Allie
Walters and Miranda Young remained undefeated in doubles to lead the
Corona del Mar High tennis team to a 12-6 Pacific Coast League
victory over visiting Northwood Tuesday.
Walters and Young won both their sets, improving to 20-0 as
doubles partners this season. Jillian Braverman and Jami Steele,
along with the duo of Roxanne Kaiden and Michelle Atkins, each
claimed two sets for CdM (10-2, 4-0 in league), which had the match
won with 10 victories after the second round of play.
The Sea Kings, ranked third in CIF Southern Section Division I,
hosts fifth-ranked Laguna Beach in a league showdown Thursday. CdM
Coach Brian Ricker guided the Breakers the past two seasons.

O’Toole and Cathy Pittman claimed their three sets in Estancia High’s

Ocean View.

Simmons and Marci Kirchberg, playing for the first time together,

shoulder during a match last week, Estancia Coach Rachel de los
Santos said.
