INSIDE
CITY HALL
Here are a few of the issues the council considered Tuesday.
PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY
The council announced a vacancy on the Planning Commission because
of former commissioner Leslie Daigle’s appointment to the City
Council on Sept. 21.
The city will accept applications until 4 p.m. Oct. 14.
WHAT IT MEANS
Mayor Tod Ridgeway appointed three council members -- himself,
Steve Bromberg and Don Webb -- to serve on an ad hoc appointments
committee. This committee will review the applications and conduct
applicant interviews.
The committee will nominate two applicants for the full council’s
approval on Oct. 26 with the final appointment scheduled for Nov. 9.
FILLING ADAMS’ SPOTS
Mayor Ridgeway appointed Daigle to the committees that her
predecessor, former Councilman Gary Adams, sat on. Adams resigned in
September.
WHAT IT MEANS
Daigle will sit on the website-review ad hoc committee, the
freeways confluence policy committee, the city centennial 2006
committee and the Newport Beach/Irvine borders committee.
