Oft-decorated ship to be saluted at yacht expo

The 26th annual Lido Yacht Expo will feature a salute to the U.S.

battleship Indiana and its surviving crew members on Thursday.

A 21-foot replica of the Indiana, one of the most decorated Navy

ships in World War II, will be visited by crew members and their

families. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lido Marina

Village at the corner of Lido Way and Newport Boulevard in Newport

Beach.

Plaza to pair up with the Italian Trade Commission

South Coast Plaza and the Italian Trade Commission will host the

Italian Luxury and Design event from Friday to Oct. 24. The event

includes a shoe exhibit by Italian designer Salvatore Ferragamo that

will be displayed in the Jewel Court near Macy’s from Friday through

Oct. 10.

Participating stores will offer related book signings, trunk

shows, music, wine tastings and cooking demonstrations throughout the
