Sunday’s eighth annual Pet Parade and Chili Cook Off was the most
successful yet. Event chair Rick Gold said the event grossed more
than $15,000 with all proceeds going to the Pacific Marine Mammal
Center, Blue Bell Cat Foundation and the Laguna Animal Shelter.
The winners included first place and a runner-up in each category.
“Most Handsome Male” first-place winner was Toby, owned by Kasey
Konkel; runner-up was Columbus, owned by Alison Rosenbaum. “Prettiest
Female” winner was Sasha and owner Margie Tompkine; runner-up was
Luna, owned by Devyn Powers. “Most Talented” went to Riley, owned by
Kasey Konkel, and Buddy came in second, owner Tony Brindly. “Cutest
Pet Baby” was won by Harley Girl, owned by Hannah, and Yoda got
second, owners Brendan and Becky Kertin. “Best Costume” was won by
Maggie, owner Dina Marcus, and Tipper was runner-up, owned by Mona
Roberts.
